Steve Raspe

Twelve years ago, Steve and his wife Kristina searched up and down the Peninsula for a town that felt like home for their family. They found it in Los Gatos: strong schools, close families, and a community that welcomed them with open arms. They bought a home (a former farmhouse) and raised their two sons, Jacob and Lucas, here.

Since then, Steve's spent nearly a decade serving our town. He's been chair and vice chair of both the Planning Commission and the Historic Preservation Committee. He's helped guide decisions on major housing and commercial projects and refined the codes, regulations, and standards that govern how Los Gatos grows and operates.

Steve's the son of Argentine immigrants who came to California with very little except a desire to improve their lot in life and to raise their family in a place where they could succeed. His dad was a machinist. His mom was a bookkeeper. Together, they worked hard, saved, and built a business. Steve started kindergarten speaking only Spanish, and he learned early what it means to work for your place in a community.

He attended California public schools, earned his law degree at Berkeley, and spent 15 years as a trial lawyer before dedicating his practice to representing nonprofits, specializing in real estate.

Steve has a deep passion for preserving our town's historic character while fostering smart, managed progress. He knows this town and knows how to manage change without losing what makes Los Gatos so special.
